Instead, economics has become an increasingly ubiquitous as well as rapidly changing line of inquiry that requires people who are skilled in analyzing and interpreting economic data, and then using it to effect decisions about national and global markets and policy involving everything from health care to foreign aid to the environment. The Master of Arts in Applied Economics Program centers on economic reasoning and estimating and formulating economic models using econometrics and other quantitative techniques. Johns Hopkins University offers a rigorous and demanding curriculum and a talented and dedicated staff of instructors. Our goal is to prepare students to answer the questions they face in their professional endeavors. The MA in Applied Economics is a ten-course evening program geared toward working adults. Emphasizing quantitative techniques, the program's substantive scope is wide: From Public Policy, to Business Economics, to Finance and Macroeconomics, to Trade, Development and Growth, and to Environmental and Health Economics. Together with the Carey Business School of Johns Hopkins University, we also offer a Dual MA in Applied Economics/Graduate Certificate in Financial Management, and a Dual MA in Applied Economics/Graduate Certificate in Investments. The Dual Diplomas programs comprise 14 courses, eight at applied Economics and six at Carey.
