A limited number of graduate assistantships are available to qualified students including a full-tuition waiver. These awards also include a monthly stipend. Programs of study include a master’s degree and a doctoral degree in Marine Science and a unique master’s degree in Hydrographic Science that is certified at the Category A level by the FIG/IHO.     Accreditation Information: The University of Southern Mississippi is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools  # Of Credits Required:   Time To Degree:     Previous Degrees Masters program - a bachelors or masters degree that is equivalent to a USM degree Doctoral program - a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field of science, mathematics, or computer science  Pre-Requisite Courses Strong working knowledge in calculus, applied mathematics, statistics, the basic sciences (biology, chemistry geology, physics), engineering.
