The Graduate Program in English offers the MA and PhD degrees. Our faculty specialize in all areas of English and American literature, and we offer a special emphasis on material culture study and book history/archival research. We admit about 12 students each year and we provide full funding and tuition to each full-time student, usually in return for teaching 1st-year writing. The 2009-2010 base stipend will be $15,200. We strongly emphasize profesional development and publication.
