Psychologists contribute to the solution of human problems by creating new knowledge through research as well as by translating that knowledge into action. Students in the graduate training program in personality at Northwestern University develop both research and consultative skills, so that they can collaborate with others in the real-world application of research findings. Within the personality program, it is possible to acquire expertise in a number of subspecialties.
