The Graduate Certificate in African Studies is for students approaching the study of African societies, cultures, histories, and arts across the disciplines--in the humanities, social sciences, and in the professions. Students earning graduate degrees in Northwestern's academic departments and professional schools earn the Certificate in African studies by merging a core of Africa-content courses with their major program of study.
