The Psychology Department at George Mason University offers an M.A. and Ph.D. in Biopsychology. Faculty in the department collaborate with the Krasnow Institute for Advanced Study and the Shared Research Instrumentation Facility (SRIF). A wide range of current neurobiological techniques are available through the department, SRIF, and Krasnow. These include HPLC to measure neurotransmitter levels, ELISA to localize neurotransmitters and their receptors, and pathway tracing methods, such as the Golgi technique.

The program prepares students for employment with research labs, such as NIH and other settings.
