Our program offers graduate students an opportunity to do research in a broad range of sub-specialties, all leading to a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Examples of sub-specialties include: Pharmacogenomics of membrane transporters; Chemical and physical properties of drugs and dosage forms; Pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs; Molecular mechanisms of how drugs cross membranes and barriers; Targeted and controlled release of drugs and gene delivery systems; Methods of monitoring and controlling levels of drugs in the body, ranging from computational simulations to biosensor development; Quantitative analysis and modeling of drug properties and transport phenomena.
