On Campus

Increasingly the study of visual art has become interdisciplinary. To that end the Visual Arts Division maintains low walls between disciplines and offers the M.F.A. degree in Visual Arts rather than in one or another specific media. The two-year studio program itself is a matrix of familiar disciplines including digital media, drawing, new genres, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and video art. The artists and critics that comprise the Visual Arts faculty are distinguished by their international reputations and their unparalleled dedication to teachingan interdisciplinary curriculum within a research university.
