Graduate Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language
On Campus

The 18-credit Graduate Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) is designed for adult part-time students and current teachers who want to enhance their credentials. This certificate is valuable for anyone who is interested in an ESL related career and is now the primary credential for ESL professionals. Furthermore, changing demographics with the accompanying pressure to assimilate, to pass minimum literacy standards, and the need to find employment create a large demand for teachers with skills to teach a linguistically diverse population.

Accreditation Information: The University of Mary Washington is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
