The Graduate Program in Toxicology provides educational and professional training in Molecular & Mechanistic Toxicology and Toxicology and Environmental Health.

Graduates of our Track in Molecular and Mechanistic Toxicology are prepared to conduct research in molecular mechanisms of cellular and organism responses to environmental and industrial chemicals, drugs and radiation; free radicals and associated diseases including cancer; and chemoprevention. An understanding of the role of environment-gene interactions in these diseases is a common goal of our program.

Graduates of our Track in Toxicology and Environmental Health are prepared to conduct basic and public health research, teach, and provide technical support to federal, state, and local governments, industry, and public interest groups in areas including the evaluation and testing of harmful effects of chemical, physical, and biological agents on living organisms; prevention of chemical induced diseases; chemical risk assessment; and environmental protection through governmental regulations for the control and monitoring of hazardous chemicals.

The Graduate Program in Toxicology is conducting cutting-edge research including: Mechanisms of Cell Injury Carcinogenesis Reproductive Toxicology Neurotoxicology Aquatic Toxicology Forensic & Analytical Toxicology Molecular Epidemiology Risk Assessment & Environmental Law Environmental Epidemiology & Toxicology.
