This program utilizes cellular, molecular, and genetic approaches in the study of microorganisms and their effects on their hosts. Students can specialize in various areas including bacteriology; virology; microbe-host interactions; vector biology; microbial pathogenesis and parasitology; and microbial genetics ecology, evolution, and physiology. Students interested in any of these fields should apply to the Microbiology Track of the Yale Combined Program in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS).
