On Campus

In 1969, the Medical Scientist Training Program was instituted at Yale whereby a limited number of highly-qualified medical students might combine their curriculum with study in the Graduate School in order to earn the jointM.D./Ph.D. degree. The dual degree program is meant to provide these individuals with a broad exposure to human biology and medicine, and to an in-depth and rigorous training in one of the scholarly disciplines relevant to medicine.
