M.A. in East Asian Regional Studies
On Campus

The M.A. in East Asian Regional Studies is designed to be a one-year program that provides intensive exposure to the politics, international relations, modern history, and cultural and social formations of the region. Completion of the degree requires proficiency in an Asian language (third year level in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean; second year level in a Southeast Asian language). Students receive interdisciplinary training with both a country and trans-regional focus. Students who plan to enter the professions, mid-career professionals, and those who plan to enter doctoral programs are encouraged to apply. Course selection can be tailored to meet an individual's needs for specialized training in the region.
