The Department of Theater at UMass offers a professional training program in directing, dramaturgy, scenic, costume and lighting design. Graduates of the 3-year program are prepared to work in resident professional theaters, in colleges and universities, and in many other areas of performance. Graduates of the program include actor Bill Pullman, director Greg Leaming, playwright Connie Congdon, and production designer Douglas Kraner. Currently offering incoming Teaching Assistantships of $10,000 plus full waiver of tuition and health insurance fees.
