Either the M.S. or M.A. in sociology is available through the Interdepartmental Graduate Program in Sociology. The Rural Sociology component of this Program has strengths in natural resource and environmental sociology, international development, the sociology of agriculture and aquaculture, and rural health. Students with interests in Rural Sociology are eligible for graduate research assistantships and graduate teaching assistantships. Course requirements include a set of three core courses (theory, statistics, research methods) and additional courses selected by the student in cooperation with the student's graduate advisor.
