The program is designed to prepare students for entry into careers involving translation of texts ranging from legal-commercial to scientific and medical texts, with an introduction to literary translation. Core courses include an introduction to theory and practice, terminology and computer applications, translation workshops in the three primary areas of translation activity cited above, and a two-course sequence in localization and localization-oriented project management. Students complete their work with a thesis-like translation case study, which consists of a master translation, a critical analysis, and a terminology resource created to support the translation process.
