Operations and information management places special emphasis on economic analysis and formal modeling of strategic and operational control problems to be found in the critical processes associated with the design, production and distribution of goods and services. Theory development as well as critical experimental and field studies suggest new solutions to organizational information and incentive problems in a wide range of problem contexts (e.g. the environment, individual and group decision making, supply chain management, business reengineering and more efficient and effective computer applications). Normative results can be tested empirically and integrated with the design of innovative decision support systems.
