The graduate program of the Department provides insight and investigative opportunities in the areas of anatomy and cell biology,emphasizing the structural and functional relationships of cell systems,tissues and organs. A particular interest within the department is the field of developmental morphogenesis, including growth factors and gene activation control mechanisms, as well as the mechanisms of teratogenic toxicities. A specific focus of research activity is related to angiogenesis and its relationship to the control of limb development. The Department also has research activities related to the control of central nervous system development and function.
