Civil Engineering is a strongly people-oriented profession that deals with the infrastructure of a society. Civil engineers design bridges, buildings, and other structures; develop water supply and sewerage systems; plan and design highway and transportation systems; and design foundations, earth and rock structures, and tunnels. The opportunity exists for professional employment with industry, utilities, consulting firms, contractors, and local, state, and federal government agencies.
