The Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at The Ohio State University exists to bridge the gap between clinical medicine and research. Highly qualified students enroll in a rigorous program to pursue the MD and PhD degrees simultaneously. Ohio State is recognized as one of the premier institutions in the country for clinical medicine. The MSTP provides a nexus between state-of-the-art research and clinical medicine for extraordinary students desiring an academic medicine/biomedical research career track. A joint program of the College of Medicine and Public Health and the Graduate School at Ohio State, the MSTP allows students to complete the dual-degree requirements within seven years. Students admitted to the Ohio State MSTP choose from any of the nearly 100PhD programs.
