This program provides for overlapping course work to be performed while simultaneously working toward both an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Ph.D. in one of the basic science programs of the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). It is carried out in affiliation with MSOE and the Medical College of Wisconsin Graduate Division. The combined program requires both of the presently authorized programs at both institutions to be completed in full. The significance of the program is that it encourages individuals with backgrounds in the physical sciences to pursue an academic career in one of the basic science areas of the biomedical community.
