The UMass/Five College Graduate Program in History offers a small program of excellent quality with a favorable student-faculty ratio and ample opportunity for participation in seminars and independent study. The hallmark of the Program is intensive training in historiography and research. Special strengths are social, cultural, political and intellectual history of the United States, Europe and Latin America. Faculty from Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, and Smith Colleges and the University of Massachusetts offer breadth and depth to the study of history.
