The purpose of the developmental genetics program is to offer research opportunities in the areas of developmental biology with a special focus on molecular and genetic approaches. Students have the opportunity to carry out research with investigators working with a variety of organisms, including Drosophila, C. elegans, Xenopus, Arabidopsis, mouse, chicken, and zebrafish. The research program allows the study of diverse developmental processes such as pattern formation, cell determination, cell lineage, and cell-cell interactions. A unique feature of this program is that it brings together investigators from NYU School of Medicine and NYU Biology Department to provide a comprehensive program focused on developmental genetics.
