It has been designed for those individuals possessing a baccalaureate degree in another subject area who have also satisfied all the prerequisite courses and wish to become qualified for licensure as physical therapists. Students have the opportunity to acquire theoretical knowledge and clinical skills basic to physical therapy practice, participate in supervised clinical experiences, and develop an appreciation for research all in a full-time program that is two and a half academic years in length. The Professional Physical Therapy program leading to the Doctor of Physical Therapy is designed in accordance with the American Physical Therapy Association guidelines. The program is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy and is not a transitional DPT. Therefore it is not open to students who possess a BS or MS in Physical Therapy.
