These programs are designed to integrate child development research and theory with effective practice; they offer opportunities for working with young children, and conducting observations and research in a variety of settings, including the Eliot-Pearson Children's School and the Tufts Educational Day Care Center. They are designed to prepare students for careers that demand knowledge of theoretical and empirical issues in child development, as well as the skills necessary for effective work in a broad range of applied settings.

The Sydney Fellowship is available for students entering the M.A. or M.A.T. programs; underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
