Through an integrated studio approach, graduate coursework applies design concepts, technical information and hands-on skills to the design of a range of public, commercial, residential and institutional spaces. Students learn to design interiors that answer aesthetic, social, physical and psychological needs. The coexistence of diverse professional and educational backgrounds makes for a rich, vibrant educational community and thought pool. Working Interior Design professionals critique student work, offering exposure opportunities for students. Interior Design students are also encouraged to join local, national and international interior design professional organizations for further networking throughout their education. Alumni of the Interior Design program are principles of their own design firms, project managers in major architectural and design firms, facilities managers, and design coordinators. The program begins in the summer term with three terms of prerequisite coursework that prepares candidates for the graduate coursework.
