The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers graduate programs leading to the degrees of Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Master of Science (without specification), and Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering. At the master's level, there are degree programs in construction management, environmental engineering, geotechnical/geoenvironmental engineering, structural engineering, and transportation engineering. The PhD level program is flexible and can be adapted to any subject area in civil and environmental engineering.
The Master of Science degree requirements may be completed on a full- or part-time basis. In either case, the student must meet with their faculty adviser during the first semester of study to arrange for an appropriate sequence of courses that will satisfy the degree requirements. The PhD program must be completed in accordance with the residency requirements for the degree.
