The mission of the Department of Environmental Health is to advance the health of all people in the United States and around the world through research and training in environmental health. The department emphasizes the role of air, water, the built environment, and the workplace as critical determinants of health. Teaching and research activities of the department are carried out through three concentrations:
  • exposure, epidemiology, and risk
  • occupational health
  • physiology
