The program maximizes integration between the medical and graduate school curricula so that all requirements can be satisfied within a minimal time-frame. In recognition of the individual needs of each student, the program has a flexible design, including a special graduate program, Biomedical Sciences, specifically for MD/PhD students. Some science majors can qualify for exemption from certain medical school courses and apply that time to other areas of advanced study.
