The materials science and engineering curriculum combines the study of the relationship between the structure and properties of materials with the engineering aspect of materials production, fabrication and use. Engineering courses provide a coherent program covering thermodynamics, material and energy balances, transport phenomena, statics, strength of materials, electrical and electronic circuits and fundamental courses in the structure and properties of metals, polymers, ceramics and composite materials.
