Master of Arts in Linguistics with a specialization in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

The 6-quarter M.A. program offers an optimal balance of theory and practice. Internships and practicum opportunities are available in the Department (in the Ohio Program of Intensive English). A thesis is optional but an original research paper is required for graduation. The ratio of American and international students is approximately 50 - 50.

Teaching assistantships in ESL, introductory linguistics courses, and non-Western languages (Chinese, Indonesian/Malaysian, Japanese, Swahili and others), non-teaching graduate assistantships, and tuition scholarships are available.
