The Biochemistry Department goal is to provide each student with the academic and research training required for a successful career in biochemistry and molecular biology.  This includes an extensive yet flexible curriculum tailored to meet the needs of each student, as well as ample exposure to a variety of research experiences.  In the first year, students enroll in the core curriculum of the Interdisciplinary Program in Biomedical Sciences.  In subsequent years students are exposed to state-of-the-art instrumentation and training in structural biology methods, including high-field NMR, X-ray crystallography and other spectroscopic and microscopic techniques.
