The Department of Art and Art History offers a Master of Arts degree in studio art. For admission as a degree candidate, an applicant must have earned a baccalaureate degree from an accredited four-year college and have developed a portfolio of art work in a representative range of media. This work must have been created within the last five years. Completion of degree requirements may be undertaken on a part-time basis or by attending summer sessions. The Art Department also offers course options for the Master of Arts degree in Art Education for those seeking New York State Certification for teaching primary and secondary level. Students who successfully complete the program will graduate with a Master of Arts degree from the School of Education.
