The size and nature of the program foster close interactions between faculty members and students. Upon entering the program, students rotate through several research laboratories before choosing a major professor and research project. The graduate program offers advanced courses in biochemistry and molecular biology, as well as weekly journal clubs and seminars, which develop scientific communication skills.
