The Ph.D. program in the Department of Neuroscience offers students the opportunity to obtain multidisciplinary training in many areas of research related to the nervous system. For example, students can receive instruction and practical research training in neuroanatomy, molecular and cellular neurobiology, molecular neurogenetics, neuroembryology and aging, neurotransmitter chemistry and pharmacology, neuroendocrinology and immunology, molecular and cellular neuro-oncology, cellular and membrane neurophysiology and biophysics, sensory and motor neurophysiology and psychophysics, transplantation neurobiology and neurobehavioral sciences. A program in marine vertebrate and invertebrate neurobiology is available through departmental faculty at the C. V. Whitney Laboratory.
