M.A. - History of the Decorative Arts
On Campus

The Bard Graduate Center for Studies in the Decorative Arts is an international study and exhibition center in New York City devoted to the interdisciplinary study of the decorative arts of all cultures. The Center offers an intensive two-year program of study leading to a master of arts degree in the history of the decorative arts. The program interprets the decorative arts on two primary levels: as elements in a hierarchy of connoisseurship defined by aesthetics, material, techniques, and provenance and as components of material culture. The relationship between the decorative and the fine arts is also explored.
