The graduate program in American Studies offers a combined Ph.D. degree in American Studies and one of the following departments: Anthropology, Communications and Culture, Criminal Justice, Education, English, Fine Arts, Folklore, History, Journalism, Philosophy, Political Science, Religious Studies, Sociology, Telecommunications, Theatre and Drama. This doctoral degree allows students to integrate their primary area of concentration with the interdisciplinary study of the American experience.
