To respond to the needs of the Church in the World, he School of Theology and Religious Studies offers ecclesiastical, civil, and pastoral degrees. The School of Theology and Religious Studies offers ecclesiastical degrees (S.T.B., S.T.L., S.T.D.) in the fields of Biblical Studies, Liturgical Studies and Sacramental Theology, Moral Theology/Ethics, and Historical and Systematic Theology. It offers civil degrees (M.A., Ph.D.) in the fields of Biblical Studies ,Church History, Historical Theology (Ph.D. only), Liturgical Studies, Moral Theology/Ethics, Religious Education/Catechetics, Religion and Culture, Spirituality, and Systematic Theology. It has developed pastoral degrees in the fields of Religious Education/Catechetics (M.R.E.), Catholic Theology and Hispanic Ministry (M.Div.), and in Adult Spiritual Formation, Liturgical Studies, Pastoral Care & Counseling (D.Min.). Certificates are offered in the fields of Hispanic Pastoral Leadership, and Pastoral Studies There are joint degree programs offered in Catholic Educational Leadership with the Department of Education (M.A.), with the School of Library and Information Science (MA/MSLS) and in History of Religions (especially Hinduism) with the Washington Consortium of Universities (MA).For the admission, degree requirements, and course offerings, see the program descriptions below.
