The program emphasizes the development of skills to provide direct service to school-aged children and the development of competencies necessary for maximizing the educational potential of all children. Students are expected to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to foster learning and social development. There are opportunities within the program to develop special competencies in areas that include behavior problems of children and adolescents, neuropsychological assessment, and special needs populations. A multitude of settings are available for practicum and internship training and include a University-based Psychological Services Center and many opportunities to train and interact within a multidisciplinary team approach.
