Syracuse University's School of Social Work, housed in the College of Human Ecology offers a graduate (M.S.W.) degree in social work, and prepares students to work with individuals, families, groups, and communities in the diverse setting of today's society. The degree, which is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), is offered in two formats: the 2-year, 60-credit program for individuals who do not hold a bachelor's degree in social work; and the Advanced Standing Program for individuals who have earned a bachelor's degree in social work from a program accredited by the CSWE. Students in the 60-credit program complete 900 hours of field placement experience concurrent with their academic work; students in the Advanced Standing Program complete 450 hours.
