The Department of Psychiatry teaches at Michigan State University in both the College of Human Medicine and theCollege of Osteopathic Medicine. Our medical school education mission is fulfilled through programs in the preclinical and clinical years focused on the psychiatric needs of patients who see primary care physicians. We are particularly concerned about providing comprehensive care to under served populations in urban and rural settings. Our medical student programs are nationally recognized for their excellence and we are among the leading schools in graduating students who pursue careers in psychiatry
