Applicants must have completed at least three years of undergraduate study at an institution accredited by the National Committee of Regional Accrediting Agencies in the U.S. or Canada. The baccalaureate degree is strongly encouraged. An applicant's undergraduate studies must include one year or eight credits each of biology, physics, general chemistry, and organic chemistry. One year of laboratory must be included with each of these prerequisites. The required courses should be completed at the time of application. If they are not, detailed plans for completion by the end of the spring semester for the entering year must be listed on the transcript portion of the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) application.
