The certificate in School Library Media prepares students to work with children and young adults in elementary, secondary or K-12 school libraries as well as youth services departments in public libraries. School library media certification assumes students have a valid teaching credential. Recommendations for endorsement in school library media is made by the DU Library and Information Science program but endorsement is granted by each state. Individual state requirements vary and may include teaching experience and media examinations in addition to a valid teaching credential.
