Graduate Certificate in Global Policy Studies
On Campus

The objective of the Graduate Certificate in Global Policy Studies is to provide UGA graduate students with a set of courses and experiences that will aid them in situating their areas of study within the context of a broadening global environment. More specifically, students who obtain this certificate will
 - be able to understand, critically assess, and deal with global policy issues such as economic, political, environmental, trade, and security matters, among others.
 - develop a refined understanding of the determinants of global policies such as variation in cultures and structural and institutional constraints.
 - more successfully bid for applied careers in international affairs such as in governmental and non-governmental organizations, the State Department, the intelligence community, the foreign service, multinational organizations, the diplomatic corps, international aid organizations, and others.
Students who qualify for this Graduate Certificate are expected to translate their academic experiences into an active expansion of their applied work into the global community. In so doing, they will contribute to the proliferation of global understanding among those with whom they have professional contact, and may further contribute to the body of knowledge from which they have benefited.
