The mission of the Department of Counseling and Family Therapy at Saint Louis University is to prepare reflective practitioners to function as professional counselors and marriage and family therapists in a wide range of settings and roles. The Department of Counseling and Family Therapy offers the following degrees: Master of Arts in Counseling with a concentration in either Elementary or Secondary School Counseling, or Human Development Counseling; Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling and Family Therapy; Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. Students in the advanced degree programs mentor other students through seminars, meetings, and observations and discussions of their therapy sessions.
   
Accreditation Information: The programs of the department are accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Universities and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)
