Minority Programs
On Campus

We, who have long recognized the need for increased opportunities for minority students, have established and implemented the Historically Black Institution Visitation Program to do our part in reversing the national decline in the enrollment of minority graduate students. The purpose of the HBI program is to provide an opportunity for minority students to visit Purdue University and subsequently consider enrollment. The broad intent of the program is to:
  • Encourage undergraduate students from HBIs to pursue a graduate education.
  • Illustrate the various career opportunities available at Purdue.
  • Establish ties between faculty and students on the Purdue University campus and Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
  • Increase minority enrollment on the Purdue University campus.
