Garnett(Director) and Alison K. Esler (Asst. Director). The Texas Tech McNair Scholars program isone of ninety-nine McNair programs nationwide. The McNair Scholars Program has beenestablished to prepare low-income, and / or first-generation college students. The long-term mission of the McNair Scholars Program is to increase the number of individuals who receive doctorates from these underrepresented groups.
