The program is designed to provide advanced biblical, theological, and practical training for individuals who desire to enhance their ministry skills. It is flexible enough to meet the educational needs of a variety of vocational objectives. In addition to an In-Ministry Track, which is described below, the MACL has several specializations to choose from. They are: Congregational Ministries, Worship Leadership, Educational Leadership, Youth Ministries, Spiritual Direction, Leadership Studies, and Intercultural Studies. OBJECTIVES The Master of Arts in Christian Leadership seeks to aid Christian leaders in the achievement of the following specific goals: Heightened spiritual self-awareness appropriate to vocational service in the church; Clarity of vocational direction; Commitment to the authority of Scripture as the foundation for theological learning; Coherent understanding of biblical content, Christian theology, and Christian heritage; Competence in a particular skill area, depending on one’s specialization. IN-MINISTRY The Master of Arts in Christian Leadership also offers an In Ministry Track that is designed for students serving full-time in a ministry context who can not attend seminary full time. The track, designed to let the ministry context where an individual serves become the primary classroom, maximizes the use of online courses and short-term intensives. Contextual learning has been an important part of the curriculum at Sioux Falls Seminary for many years. This program takes contextual learning to the next level.
