The programs in Communicative Disorders and Sciences lead to accreditation for students by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association, New York State licensure for speech-language pathologists and audiologists, and New York State Teacher certification for Teachers of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities. We also have strong research programs in speech, language and hearing sciences with laboratories: Center for Hearing and Deafness - noise induced hearing loss, tinnitus, balance disorders; Speech Production; Speech Perception; Language Production; Child Language Disorders; Motor Speech Disorders; Dementia; Augmentative Communication.
   
Accreditation Information: The Department of Communicative Disorders and Sciences has accreditation from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association's CAA for both clinical programs in Communicative Disorders and Sciences - M.A. in CDS for Speech-Language Pathology; Au.D. for audiology
