The principle goal of our program is to prepare the individual for employment as a faculty member in counselor educator and supervisor at the university level. Students choose an emphasis area which may include any of the following: school counseling, family counseling/therapy, counseling children and adolescents, and gerontology or a doctoral minor in higher education and student affairs leadership,. Graduates are also qualified for licensure as professional counselors, and may be employed in such sites as community agencies, schools, counseling centers, employee assistance programs, and private practice. A number of graduate assistantships are available. 89-101 credits are required depending on completed prerequisites.
